Developers will test your patience

Today was such a beautiful day, so I decided it would be a great idea to take my son to the park. One of my friends, Kodi; who I mentioned in an earlier post, has 3 girls. So I decided to send her a text so see what she was doing and if she wanted to go to the park.

When I got a hold of her, she let me know that SHE was on the way to the park. Well La-Ti-Da! Look what we have here =). Excited, we meet up and of course, I brought my camera. Here I was, thrilled that there are 7 of us and I know that I will get some great photo's in today. Little did I know, there was something preventing my happiness to come.
We were at the park for about 3 hours and we all decided to pack it up and head our separate ways. Not to mention, it was getting to be dinner time (I love the time change). Christian, my son, and I went to drop off my film and when I picked it up, not only did it develop blue, but in most pictures, there was a light orange line running down.
-Sigh- Of course, a beautiful day and no pictures am I able to use. So, for giggles, here are the pictures that weren't SO bad =).
This one, I shot earlier in the day. This is the entrance to the alley where I took Hopes pictures, the week before.

The next two shots are of the park that is next to the one we went to. They have been tearing down all of the trees in this park, so there's not much else you can see besides cement. I wanted to get at least these pictures, before this stream and the few trees that are left, become non-existent.

Here are the very few pictures that I was able to get of the kids today.

Hope

Hope and I were on the way to her photo shoot on Saturday and I had no idea where we could go to take decent pictures. Calhoun is just ... blah. There are no open areas here that scream serene and beautiful. I'm from Orlando, so I am a little biased and I need to quit that. So, we had to improvise and Hope informed me that there was an alley in downtown. Oh man, when I got there, I thought it was perfect. Especially when it comes to my subject; Hope.

Who you're going to be taking pictures of, really constitutes where you're going to be taking the pictures. You have to make sure that you consider the person and their individuality. Where do they feel comfortable? Where is their true personality going to pop out at? These are the queestions that need to be asked before you take someone's pictures.

Hope is an amazing girl with a great sense of humor and just as great sense of style and individuality. She's an inspiration to all young women out there. She's not only sweet, punky and goofy, but she's a Christian; and an admirable one at that. Here are some of the great pictures she produced. Enjoy!

Unique-Ness

What's in a name? A name means everything. It's the first impression someone has on a business. Personally, I like the effect that a unique name has when it comes to businesses. It not only makes the potential customer stop and look at the name, but they also ponder what the name means and how the owner came to the name. the unit photography - intentionally all lower case; was inspired by two friends of mine: Kodi and Hope.

Starting a business when you're a single-unemployed mother is a little hard. So, it goes without saying that I cannot afford an actual business 'place' where my clients and potential clients can come to see me. I was talking to Kodi on the phone, telling her how I could be purchasing furniture right now, but I wouldn't have anywhere to put them. That's when we began discussing using a storage unit to store the items in. Then it hit me; why not just have my business inside of a storage unit. Well, for one, there are several legalities but that will come later.

At this point, all of this was just an idea swimming through my head. After all, my friends knew how frustrated I was about a name for the business. I originally wanted my name; it's not everyday that there's a JenniLee Photography Studio running around. Well, hit the brakes, because apparently there are and all three Jenni Lee's have photography studios with the name already. So, needless to say ... it's not as original as I had hoped. Well, I was on my way to Hope's photoshoot with her and we were joking around about names and she said 'the unit', because I am doing it out of a storage unit. Well, the name stuck because it's CLEVER! We think anyhow.
So, the name is ... the unit photography. Catch it =)
